FAQ – Why Hire Us – Maryland, DC, VA Wedding Photography

There are millions of photographers out there and you have probably spent hours researching all your options. Why should you hire us? The answer, I believe, is an unmatched combination of artistry, service, and value. You should know that Anthony Sekellick Photography is a family owned and operated studio. I usually work alongside my brother, Steven, who provides support as a second shooter. My wife, Priscilla is the studio manager. Together, we pride ourselves on making you, our client, happy. We want you to love not only the images we create, but your entire experience. It’s our commitment to you. Being recently married myself, I know how stressful and difficult planning a wedding can be at times. I want to do my part to ensure your day is a success and that the photography portion is a breeze.


Q. What would you call your style or approach to Wedding Photography

A. I call it a dynamic documentary style. For much of the day you will barely know we are there. We often get comments on our seemingly ninja-like ability to capture moments that our clients didnt realize we were there for. We are trying to tell the story of your day, but we arent writing the story, and we definitely don’t want to be part of it, we just want to capture it. Of course when it is time for those timeless family portraits, we are great at taking the needed control to gently direct everyone where they need to be. For our brides and grooms, I like to keep things light so couples can let loose and be themselves. I might give slight directions, but I’m not big on posing couples, I’d rather let you interact naturally. I think it’s important to let “you” shine through, but mostly, it’s your day and you should enjoy it and if that means taking two hours to get all the portraits you want done, great! If that means wrapping up the portraits in 15 minutes so you can party with your family and friends, that works too. Of course usually it will be somewhere in the middle.


Q. How many photos will we receive?

A. Every wedding is different, typically after full day of wedding coverage, our clients will receive between 600-900 images.


Q. How long until we receive our images?

A. You will get your photos in 3 weeks or less! If not, I’ll give you a $200 print credit.


Q. Do you work with another photographer?

A. Yes! All my packages include a 2nd photographer. I find that having a second shooter during a wedding is incredibly valuable since I haven”t figured out how to be in two places at once yet.


Q. What if disaster strikes!?!?

A. There are a few answers that apply here. First off, my camera records to multiple cards to protect against card failures. I also have multiple cameras, lenses, and flashes, in case of equipment failures AND the above mentioned 2nd shooter who also has his own equipment. After the wedding, images are downloaded and stored onto another hard drive, and eventually archived offsite. So, years later, if your computer crashes and you lose your photos, I can replace them for you. *Note – There is a small handling charge for this service.


Q. Do you travel? What do you consider a local wedding?

A. Yes, I love to travel. To me local is anything that I’d be willing to drive home from after a 10-12-hour day of shooting. This is somewhat fluid, but typically a 50-75 mile range from the 21076 zip-code. Beyond that, accommodations and a mileage allowance may be required. Just contact us and we’ll be happy to give you quote.


Q. What does “All-Day” wedding coverage really mean?

A. With our wedding packages, you don’t need to stress over whether to hire us for 6 hours or 8 hours, or more. I know timelines get adjusted and you shouldn’t have to worry about your photographer leaving early on your wedding day. That’s why all of our packages come with up to 12 hours of photography. We truly love photographing weddings and creating lasting wedding images that our clients will cherish. We don’t want our clients to miss out on any pictures from late in the reception because that’s when the fun happens! So, don’t worry – we’ll be there to capture them.


Q. What are your prices?

A. Collections start at $3450 for all day coverage with 2 photographers. All collections include all your final full-resolution edited images on a disk or for download. You can add extras such as an engagement session or a gorgeous keepsake album for an additional cost. I make it easy to get exactly what you want without anything you don’t.
